Network Security Engineer

***Hiring: Network Security Engineer (Check Point) – Leeds (On-site)***

We’re looking for a Network Security Engineer to join our team in Leeds on a 6-month contract.

Role Details:
Location: Leeds, UK (On-site)

Key Skills Required:
- Strong hands-on experience with Check Point firewalls (R8x, VSX, ClusterXL, MDM/MDS, Maestro)
- Solid understanding of network security principles & TCP/IP
- Proven troubleshooting skills across firewalls, connectivity & policy issues
- Experience with ServiceNow / Jira in change-controlled environments
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix (Gaia OS, CLI)

Nice to Have:
- Scripting (Python, Bash)
- Cisco networking (routing, switching, ACI)
- Monitoring tools (Solarwinds, Skyline)
- Experience in regulated environments (Financial Services, compliance)

Role Responsibilities:
- Firewall operations & incident management
- Troubleshooting complex security issues in production
- Implementing firewall policy changes & NAT updates
- Supporting platform upgrades, patching & lifecycle management
- Handling change requests (Jira/ServiceNow)
- Supporting audit, compliance & documentation
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams
